چکیده

Abstract During curing of thermosetting resins the technologically relevant properties binders and coatings develop. However, is difficult to monitor due multitude chemical physical processes taking place. Precise prediction specific technological based on molecular very difficult. In this study, potential principal component analysis (PCA) regression (PCR) in Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra demonstrated using example melamine‐formaldehyde (MF) resin solid state. FTIR/PCA‐based reaction trajectories are used visualize influence temperature isothermal cure. An FTIR/PCR model for predicting hydrolysis resistance cured MF from their spectral fingerprints presented which illustrates advantages compared combination differential scanning calorimetry/isoconversional kinetic analysis. The methodology transferable reactions any can be applied other final as well.

Thermal Degradation and Stability of Accelerated-curing Phenol-formaldehyde Resin

In order to study the thermal stability of accelerated-curing PF resin, the curing behavior of fresh PF resin was investigated in the presence of single accelerator of methylolurea derivatives (MMU), magnesium hydrate (Mg(OH)2), 25% aqueous solution of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), and propylene carbonate (PC). Also their optimum combination was added in fresh PF resin. The thermal stability of cu...

Optimization of thermal curing cycle for a large epoxy model

Heat generation in an exothermic reaction during the curing process and low thermal conductivity of the epoxy resin produces high peak temperature and temperature gradients which result in internal and residual stresses, especially in large epoxy samples. In this paper, an optimization algorithm was developed and applied to predict the thermal cure cycle to minimize the temperature peak and the...

Process efficiency in polymer extrusion: Correlation between the energy demand and melt thermal stability

Thermal stability is of major importance in polymer extrusion, where product quality is dependent upon the level of melt homogeneity achieved by the extruder screw. Extrusion is an energy intensive process and optimisation of process energy usage while maintaining melt stability is necessary in order to produce good quality product at low unit cost. Optimisation of process energy usage is timel...

Hydrolytic stability of hydrazones and oximes.

Molecules containing carbon–nitrogen double bonds are prevalent in both chemical and biological contexts. The foundations for our current understanding of carbon–nitrogen double-bond formation and hydrolysis were laid by seminal work on hydrazone hydrolysis and formation, and by contributions from mechanistic studies on enzymes that utilize pyridoxal phosphate. In particular, the meticulous kin...
